Is there an ASUS board in the AM2 family that has an AGP slot? I can't seen to
find one.

Very highly unlikely.... ever. Unless Asrock does one.

Like sewing an old patch on to new cloth. About time to Ebay that old
video card.

Thanks for the help. What would be your recommendation for one with integrated
video? I don't game, don't need SLI, have no video needs whatsoever other than a
decent image on a 19" LCD monitor.......wouldn't even mind one with integrated
video AND sound (less cards to buy). Was gonna go with one in the socket 939
family that had an AGP slot (had it in my hand at the store, and decided to wait
a bit), but since there won't be anymore of those chips made, figured I could go
entry level Athlon 64 AM2 (cheap) for now, and later only need to upgrade the
CPU (X2, etc) if I want more speed. Any suggestions welcomed.

By the way, are the Athlon 64 AM2 chips as overclockable as the socket 939 ones?
It's not a big deal for me right now, though I've o/c in the past. Just curious.

I can give you a fairly ridiculous solution:

ASRock 939Dual-SATA2
http://www.asrock.com/product/939Dual-SATA2.htm

plus an AM2 adapter:
http://www.ocworkbench.com/2006/asrock/AM2%20CPU%20Board/g1.htm

You remove a series of jumpers from the 939Dual-SATA2 motherboard,
then insert the AM2 adapter into the yellow slot on the motherboard.
The AM2 adapter contains the AMD processor plus your DDR2 RAM. The
assembly will be quite heavy, and will have limited room for the
CPU cooler. You can see the assembled system here.

http://www.ocworkbench.com/2006/asrock/AM2%20CPU%20Board/g2.htm

If taking this route, make sure you can buy the adapter first,
before you go looking for the motherboard.

I have not been tracking the AM2 board offerings, so I cannot offer
much help. However, you should probably look at reviews of the nForce
430/GeForce 6100 (or 6150) AM2-version offerings if you want to go
with an integrated a/v solution. ~ $85.

Supposedly they are.
