What version of windows are you running? I dont think that any of your
voltages should dip more than .5 But a 550 should be way more than enough to
power that system. I am using an Enermax Liberty 550 in my system and it
runs fine.If you have another video card, try that, but before you buy one,
I'd try pulling out 1 memory stick at a time, or playing with your memory
timing.
In your bios, have you tried loading default/safe settings? I would load the
default settings, and then change your FSB speed to 166, and reboot, see
where that gets you. <of course go in and turn off any onboard items, LPT
settings, and USB settings that you have to change>. See where that puts
you.
Post by old_BoatThat's the problem, there is no little window or error message that come
up when I reboot. It just reboots like normal. I have changed everything
except the video card in the system, so I guess at this point I will try
that. How low can you go on the 5V power supply. I did notice that in the
Bios it is reporting that it is somewhere between 4 and 5 volts. I have an
antec 550Watt PS.

Post by John EdmisterI ran the same CPU for over 3 years with both an A7N8X mobo and then a
K7N2 Delta ILSR board, if I remember correctly, the FSB is 166 <333>,
with a multiplier of 11, and the stock core voltage is 1.65.
system lock ups can be attributed to alot of things, insufficient power
supply, bad stick of ram, bad video card, or other card. The best thing
to do is read the tech info when you reboot it and the little window
comes up that says windows recovered from an error would you like to send
a report. You can learn alot by reading those.

Post by old_BoatI have an A7n8X with a 2500 Barton processor. What would the proper
settings for this chip be as for FSB, multiplier, Voltages etc. This is
the axda2500kv4d. I am experiencing frequent lockups with this
combination unless I run it so that the board thinks it is an xp 1900.
memory is 2 sticks of 512 mb pc3200 400 mhz.
Thanks,
