My new K8N would go into standby and come straight back out.

I set the wake-on USB jumpers as per the manual, but that gives no USB
at all.

BIOS 1009.

Thanks

The USBPW jumpers go this way - the jumper plugs run horizontal:

X <---> X X

X <---> X X

If you installed them the following way, the USB ports will get
no power:

X X X
^ ^
| |
v v
X X X

The labels on a group of three pins are like this, and the middle
pin must be connected to one of the two end-pins, for the USB
port to get power:

X X X
+5V USB +5VSB
Port

Check your wake-on-LAN settings, and maybe that will stop it
from coming out of standby. Also check the Event Viewer for
errors.

Good catch. I misinterpreted the manual - which were the pins, which the
caps.

Sorting that out also solved the standby problem.

Thanks
